Job SummaryThe Delaware River & Bay Authority (DRBA) is seeking a Server to join our team on board our vessels. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking orders, and delivering food and beverages to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all guests
- Take and serve food and beverage orders, making recommendations as needed
- Operate a point-of-sale cash register, accurately recording sales and handling cash and credit transactions
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, adhering to safe food handling practices and proper use of equipment
- Ensure all guests ordering and/or receiving alcoholic beverages are at least 21 years of age, verifying identification as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors, including adapting to variable workloads and tempos
- Ability to operate a cash register, accurately recording sales and handling cash and credit transactions
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices and proper use of equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate and deal with guests, co-workers, and supervisors
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without restrictions, occasional stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and/or full limb extension
- Occasional use of cleaning chemicals, with knowledge of SDS sheets
- Ability to work in temperature conditions exceeding 90F
- Ability to provide superior customer service to everyone, responding in a courteous and efficient manner
- Commercial foodservice operation, bar stations, and on-board vessels
- ABC certification required, to be obtained within 30 days of starting work
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent related experience
- Previous experience as a server is preferred
- Applicants will be subject to a background check and pre-employment drug test
- Delaware River and Bay Authority requires all employees to have direct deposit with a financial institution or enroll in the payroll card program to receive their bi-weekly pay
- Required to comply with established dress and jewelry code while on duty
- Must be available to work irregular hours and adapt to variable workloads and tempos
