  • Team Leadership: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the ISO Program Director, including organizing meetings, managing communications, and maintaining documentation related to program initiatives.
  • Policy Formulation: Assist in the creation and refinement of information security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory mandates.
  • Service Coordination: Oversee the delivery of centrally managed cybersecurity services tailored to meet the evolving needs of state agencies following thorough assessments.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and communications with both internal and external stakeholders under the direction of the ISO Program Director, promoting collaboration and information exchange to achieve program goals.

Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with statewide information technology policies, standards, and guidelines. Regularly assess agency adherence to these regulations and address any non-compliance issues effectively.
  • Performance Reporting: Establish and maintain reporting systems to monitor program performance, evaluate organizational maturity, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Advocacy and Representation: Represent the ISO Program at meetings, conferences, and relevant forums, advocating for centrally managed services and effectively communicating program objectives to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Development: Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement within the ISO Program, integrating feedback and best practices to enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Assist in coordinating cybersecurity assessments, reviewing security architecture, and managing remediation efforts for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work alongside other departments to promote the use of centrally managed services and align information security strategies with broader organizational objectives.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in information security, including a minimum of 3 years in implementing cybersecurity assessment and remediation strategies.
  • A minimum of 3 years in Information System Security Management.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing information security policies and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on addressing complex security challenges.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of information security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53).
  • Experience in tracking the adoption of cybersecurity services.
  • Expertise in formulating strategic plans and business cases for new cybersecurity initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to information security, including ISO 27001 and GDPR.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Project management experience, including planning and monitoring cybersecurity service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale cybersecurity projects through all phases.
  • Capability to coordinate cross-functional teams and handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience working with state government agencies or similar large organizations.
  • Familiarity with regulations concerning information security and privacy at various governmental levels.
