Job Title: Software Engineer for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems

Job Summary:
Offset Strategic Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support the Program Management Office (PMO) Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) team. As a Software Engineer for UAS, you will play a pivotal role in transforming UAS weapon systems into more agile, secure, and efficient platforms. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess contractor-developed system software to improve performance through the integration of Agile DevSecOps generated software components that conform with compatibility requirements of available hardware.
  2. Collect information on systems-level project specifications, performance requirements, and known capabilities and limitations as they relate to the LE system.
  3. Determine the feasibility of proposed system modifications or design, ensuring the needs and requirements of the user are met within time and cost requirements.
  4. Design systems software to meet project requirements, collaborating with development teams and platform owners to ensure a smooth transition from Agile DevSecOps pipeline to the platform.
  5. Develop and lead efforts to automate the build, test, validation, and deployment processes.
  6. Use mathematical models and scientific analysis to predict and measure consequences and other outcomes of software system design.
  7. Analyze architectural and functional requirements, specifications, and interfaces.
  8. Evaluate detailed software specifications and designs.
  9. Monitor implementation of development standards, including but not limited to Mil-STD-882E, FACE, MOSA, and others.
  10. Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on DevSecOps tools and processes.
  11. Help with presentations and development of course of actions to upper management.
  12. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in DevSecOps technologies and practices.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) in any of the engineering disciplines from a college program with ABET certification.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
  3. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C.
  4. Experience with DevSecOps tools and technologies, including Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.
  5. Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
  6. Knowledge of DO 178C and Design Assurance Levels (DAL).
  7. Knowledge of Mil-STD-882E, FACE, and others.
  8. Knowledge of C and C##, Matlab, CAMEO, and Doors.
  9. Understanding of security principles and best practices.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  11. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  12. Strong communication and documentation skills.
  13. US Citizenship is required.
  14. Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain such is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience with legacy weapons systems or related technologies.
  2. Familiarity with military standards and specifications.
  3. Experience with cloud-native development and deployment.
  4. Certification in DevSecOps or related fields.

Knowledge/Skills:
  1. Knowledge of office administration and procedures.
  2. Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills.
  3. Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills.
