Position Summary:

Kassouf & Co. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of complex tax regulations and have a proven track record of success in providing comprehensive tax services to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise, review, and complete client engagements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Provide proactive tax advisory services to clients, developing tailored strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and resource for their tax needs.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new client opportunities and expanding existing relationships.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Stay abreast of current tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and master's degree in accounting.
  • Active CPA license.
  • 7+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ProSystem, Engagement, Doc.It, and Adobe software.
  • Experience with complex corporate taxation, individuals, and partnerships, including multi-state tax returns, extensions, and tax planning calculations.
  • Ability to develop tax planning strategies for clients.
  • Experience supervising, training, developing, and reviewing the work of staff and senior associates.
  • Perform advanced tax research and document conclusions.
  • Experience managing projects, including managing and monitoring client deliverables and due dates.
  • Experience handling IRS and State income tax inquiries, audits, and notices.
