Overview

Elevance Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the administration of physical and/or behavioral health medical services, ensuring the appropriate and most cost-effective medical care is received.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes
  • Provide clinical consultation and serve as a clinical/strategic advisor to enhance clinical operations
  • Identify cost of care opportunities and develop strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to inform decision-making

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree and Board certification approved by one of the following certifying boards: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession
  • Minimum of 10 years of cardiology clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills
