Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Imaging Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians with medical imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Utilize high-frequency ultrasound waves to detect medical conditions or abnormalities by producing images of the inside of a patient's body.
  • Assist Physicians: Guide biopsy instruments using sonographic techniques and assist with medical imaging procedures.
  • Operate Imaging Equipment: Utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.
  • Prepare Patients: Prepare patients for procedures and explain procedures to patients.
  • Report Findings: Report changes in patient condition to medical staff and provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist.
  • Maintain Patient Records: Maintain patient records following facility policy and procedure.
  • Collaborate with Medical Staff: Collaborate in quality control of equipment and filming and obtain service as required.
Requirements
  • Certification: A certification from an accredited ultrasound school.
  • Experience: One year of experience as an ultrasound technician preferred.
  • Professional Standards: Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Education: Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer Proficiency: Computer proficiency required.
