Position Overview

This position involves the installation and maintenance of aerial communication cables, including the strategic placement of poles and anchors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain aerial telecommunications cables with precision.
  • Utilize hand tools and equipment safely, including wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, and climbing hooks.
  • Operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators in a safe manner.
  • Establish safety perimeters using appropriate signage, cones, and barriers.
  • Direct traffic as necessary to ensure safety on job sites.
  • Comprehend and adhere to separation and clearance regulations.
  • Work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders, maintaining safety protocols.
  • Uphold safe working practices in accordance with all regulations and company policies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the United States for Triple-D.
  • Capable of passing a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
  • Possess a valid standard Driver's License and a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Previous experience in construction, preferably within the telecommunications sector.
  • Familiarity with established aerial cable installation methods and practices.
  • Able to climb telephone poles and operate bucket trucks, working at heights of up to 40 feet.
  • Competent in performing various telecommunications construction tasks, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new installations, cable laying, over lashing, and strand construction.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required, with or without assistance.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including after hours, weekends, and on-call for emergencies.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment in all weather conditions.
  • Availability to travel as needed.
  • Experience with splicing of active and passive equipment is a plus.
