We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Metrodoc Urgent Care.

About the Job

This is a part-time/full-time position with varying shifts, including 8 hour, 10 hour, and 12 hour shifts. Weekend availability is required.

Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of injuries and disease. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, ensure they have removed all jewelry and metal objects, and are wearing the appropriate medical gown.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified body areas as requested by physicians.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure all supplies are ordered and stocked.
  • Process images and review them for proper identification and quality control.
  • Prepare images for reading by physicians and contact additional physicians if a second opinion is needed.
  • Aid physicians with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocols as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Observe safety and security procedures, promote a safe and pleasant work environment, and report potentially unsafe conditions to management.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training.
  • ARRT-registered or board eligible preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or registry, Practical Nursing License, EMT or Paramedic certification or license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BLS Certification preferred.
Work Environment
  • Standing regularly throughout the shift.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes, such as those used to develop x-ray film.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
