Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at New York Imaging Service. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine and diagnostic mammography procedures, assisting with stereotactic biopsies, and tracking inventory and ordering supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and diagnostic mammography procedures to produce high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
  • Assist with stereotactic biopsies to ensure accurate tissue sampling and minimize patient discomfort.
  • Track inventory and order supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient imaging department.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures to patients, reduce anxieties, and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures to ensure accurate and comfortable imaging.
  • Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Process images and reviews for proper identification and quality control to ensure accurate diagnosis.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Orient and train new hires to ensure a smooth transition and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Licensed from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of continuous experience in Mammography
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Good computer knowledge
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Salary

The salary for this position is up to $55 per hour.
