Job Description

The Production Manager role at Kyocera International, Inc. is a critical position in our Hendersonville, NC facility. This individual will oversee existing processes and improvements based on production needs. The successful candidate will direct the production team in daily manufacture of existing products and processes, while working with the Engineering team on development of new processes, employee training, customer interaction, and collaboration with Kyocera sales/operations.

  • This includes managing employee interactions with respect and development in mind.
  • Promoting safe work practices and reviewing accident investigations if applicable.
  • Collaborating with the Quality department, other departmental supervisors/managers, Production Manager, EHS, Scheduling, Supply Management, and Planning teams daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interviews, supervises, develops, mentors, and coordinates schedules of production staff.
  • Works directly with customers to ensure all requirements are addressed on production parts.
  • Assists the Engineering team in designing, installing, and commissioning new production processes and tooling.
  • Selects, manages, and works with sub-contractors as related to engineering and production.
  • Maintains high standards for key plant performance metrics including Safety, maintenance, OTD, quality, production, and sonkin.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in manufacturing and supervision, with experience in managing a production team in a manufacturing environment. A 2-year degree is preferred, but a high school diploma and relevant experience are required. Proficiency with Outlook, SAP, and Excel is also necessary.

Qualifications
  • Ability to manage and motivate employees.
  • Knowledge of FMEA, Lean, and Six Sigma Principles.
  • Computer skills: proficient with Outlook, SAP, and Excel.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
