Job Description

Generations at Oakton Pavillion in Des Plaines, IL, has an opening for a Dietary Aide. The ideal candidate will be available to work as needed and during holidays.

New higher rate of $17 per hour

Responsibilities of the Dietary Aide:

  • Assist the chef in the preparation and service of food and beverages
  • Coordinate daily dietary services with the nursing staff
  • Serve food to bed residents
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal Food Sanitation Codes
  • Ensure that work area is consistently clean and safe

Requirements:

  • Illinois Food Sanitation Certification (or ability to attain this upon hire)
  • Some experience in a food preparation environment
  • Must be able to understand, speak and write English
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Compassion, understanding and tolerance for older adults
