Job Summary:

The Summers-Taylor Concrete Division is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Concrete Plant Manager to join our team at our Mooresburg, TN plant.

The ideal candidate will have experience in plant production and maintenance, equipment maintenance, and the ability to detect and resolve production issues. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the supervision of a dozen employees at the assigned plant, including DOT drivers and yard personnel.
  • Work closely with the dispatch and sales teams to dispatch drivers and plant personnel to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Dispatch delivery drivers and oversee the completion of safety meetings, fuel forms, and DOT trucking forms.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering materials, equipment, and tools needed for daily plant production.
  • Accurately report cash sales, material inventory, purchase orders, equipment rentals, and ticket reconciliation.
  • Operate mixer trucks, front-end loaders, dump trucks, and other equipment as necessary.
  • Assist walk-in customers and answer phone calls regarding inquiries and orders.

Requirements:

  • Preferred experience in a supervisor role
  • Experience performing varied responsibilities related to plant production and maintenance, equipment maintenance, and detecting and resolving production issues
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must have a flexible work schedule including extended hours, weekend, and holidays as needed
  • Working knowledge of computer software
  • Valid Medical Card
  • Valid Class A or B CDL
