Position Overview:


The MRI Imaging Specialist is tasked with conducting medical imaging assessments under the supervision of a physician to aid in the diagnosis or treatment of health conditions.

Job Details

Department:
Radiology

Work Schedule:
Part-time/PRN, approximately 10 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure accurate patient identification and order confirmation while preparing patients for imaging procedures.

- Conduct MRI imaging in accordance with departmental protocols.

- Demonstrate understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and exhibit proficiency in anatomical positioning.

- Critically evaluate personal imaging results.

- Complete imaging studies within designated timeframes while maintaining high standards of patient care and image quality.

- Collaborate with radiologists to determine appropriate scanning techniques and protocols.

- Administer intravenous contrast materials to patients as directed by the physician, under the supervision of a radiologist.

- Adhere to infection control and sterile procedures.

- Operate MRI equipment and associated information systems to ensure the production of quality images. Exhibit proficiency in electronic imaging.

- Manage, transfer, archive, and manipulate imaging data effectively.

- Maintain a thorough understanding of MRI machinery, including troubleshooting and operational procedures.

- Comprehend the Quench procedure and its appropriate application.

- Follow MRI safety protocols and understand the FOUR ZONE concept.

- Be knowledgeable about MR magnet safety during emergencies.

- Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including timestamps and image storage.


- Adhere to protocols for medical necessity, coding, and billing, ensuring proper consent is obtained and documenting any incidents for quality assurance. Maintain a current quality control program for ACR and report any equipment issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

- ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification

- or
  • ARRT(R) certification with a minimum of one year of full-time MRI experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in MRI or Advanced Radiologic Science

Physical Requirements:
Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Vision, Standing.
