Position Summary
As a pivotal member of our team, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Data Science, taking on the role of analytical leader within a dynamic group focused on utilizing high-throughput experimental data to uncover innovative treatment options for intricate diseases.
Your main objective will be to formulate analytical program strategies, evaluate assays, and construct bioinformatics pipelines that facilitate efficient data processing and insight extraction. Additionally, you will harness advanced deep learning models to integrate biological data, contributing to the creation of novel synthetic biomolecules.
Work Environment: This position operates in a hybrid model, requiring onsite presence at our Chicago office for 3-4 days each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the principal computational scientist for a program, guiding the strategic direction concerning both data types and deep learning methodologies.
- Utilize your bioinformatics expertise to determine the most effective combined assays and analytical techniques that accurately reflect a biological phenotype of interest.
- Examine experimental data across diverse data types to deliver insights and optimization strategies.
- Lead the creation of reproducible pipelines that convert high-throughput experimental findings into features suitable for deep learning model training.
- Identify challenges within experimental pipelines and suggest experiments and analyses to address these issues.
- Explore solutions to the challenges posed by high throughput and substantial data volume in 'omics-level' assays.
- Extract analytical insights from experimental outcomes that inform the direction of product development teams.
- Incorporate the latest advancements in deep learning and bioinformatics to tackle current design challenges faced by Evozyne, enhancing modeling capabilities.

Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the scientific industry focusing on project strategic development.
- Comprehensive knowledge of molecular biology and omics assays, particularly in immunology.
- At least 3 years of experience in analyzing omics-level biological datasets for biomarker discovery, including RNA-seq, proteomics, and imaging.
Educational Background:
PhD in molecular biology with 3+ years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience, or a master's degree with 6+ years of pertinent experience, including leadership roles.
