Position Overview:

Dewberry is in search of a Civil Engineer to enhance our Municipal Engineering division. This role is integral to our team, which is dedicated to delivering exceptional engineering solutions.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative professional with a robust background in site grading, roadway engineering, and the design of stormwater management systems. Responsibilities will also include water and sewer system design, as well as erosion control strategies. You will be tasked with conducting permitting processes, performing code research, and preparing necessary documentation for project approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a team to deliver high-quality engineering projects.
  • Manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets effectively.
  • Conduct construction administration for municipal projects.
  • Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS for project design and analysis.
  • Engage in stormwater modeling using tools like StormCAD and PondPack.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is essential.
  • Possession of an Alabama Professional Engineering (PE) license or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in managing public sector projects.
  • Proven track record in overseeing project execution, including adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in hydraulic modeling and joint pipe design software.
  • Experience with intersection improvements, roadway expansions, and pedestrian facilities.
  • Knowledge of utility coordination and right-of-way acquisition processes.
