Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join McWane's team as a skilled utility worker in our machine shop. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including hydrant assembly, forklift operation, and painting.


Key Responsibilities

As a utility worker, your duties will include:



  • Preparing work by studying assembly instructions and gathering parts, tools, and materials.
  • Positioning parts and components using work instructions.
  • Verifying specifications by testing products and visually inspecting quality.
  • Assembling products using hand tools and other equipment.
  • Resolving verifiable assembly problems and notifying supervisors as needed.


Forklift operators will be responsible for safely transferring loads of materials and finished goods throughout the facility, ensuring compliance with all safety rules and regulations.



Fuse coat painters will be responsible for painting parts using handheld paint sprayers, checking temperature, and documenting actions.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:



  • Lift and carry an average of 50 pounds.
  • Stand for greater than 6 hours per day.
  • Work in extreme temperature conditions.
  • Work around machinery.
  • Use hand tools and perform repetitive work.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.


Maintaining a safe and clean working environment is essential, and you will be expected to comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.



Manufacturing experience is considered an asset, and you will be expected to contribute to team efforts by accomplishing production requirements as needed.



Health insurance is available after 60 days, and starting pay is $24.73 with qualified pay at $25.16.



This is a weekend shift position, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
