Multimedia Journalist

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimedia Journalist to join our team at Nexstar Media Group. As a key member of our news team, you will be responsible for producing, reporting, shooting, writing, voicing, editing, and feeding news production content for all platforms.

• Report news stories for broadcast, providing clear and engaging descriptions of events.
• Arrange interviews with relevant individuals to gather information for stories.
• Review and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, adhering to prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
• Evaluate notes taken about events to isolate pertinent facts and details.
• Determine the emphasis, length, and format of stories, and organize material accordingly.
• Research and analyze background information related to news stories to provide complete and accurate information.
• Gather information about events through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at functions.
• Pitch stories to news managers and producers that are relevant to the local community.
• Receive assignments and evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas.
• Discuss issues with producers and/or news managers to establish priorities or positions.
• Check reference materials such as books, news files, or public records to obtain relevant facts.
• Revises work to meet editorial approval or to fit time requirements.
• Shoot and edit news events and news reports.
• Produce and present reports for all platforms.
• Ensure that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Write stories for the web and other eMedia platforms.
• Interact with viewers/users on social media sites.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum two years' experience in news reporting (Depending on market size).
• Superior on-air presence.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
