Yard Jockey

We are seeking a highly skilled Yard Jockey to join our team at HP Hood. As a Yard Jockey, you will be responsible for safely operating trucks and trailers, loading and unloading products, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.

• Operate Trucks and Trailers: Safely drive trucks and trailers on company property for loading and unloading products.
• Conduct Safety Checks: Complete walk-around safety checks of all vehicles to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
• Monitor Fuel Levels: Watch fuel levels and add fuel as needed to ensure trucks are operational.
• Load and Unload Products: Load and unload products from trailers, ensuring accurate and efficient loading and unloading procedures.
• Verify Load Sheets: Review load sheets to ensure correct products and amounts are loaded onto assigned trailers.
• Rotate Products: Rotate products in the warehouse to ensure correct coded products are shipped to customers.
• Remove Damaged Goods: Continuously check for and remove damaged goods to ensure only quality products are shipped to customers.

• Education: GED or High School Diploma required.
• License: Valid CDL Class A license preferred.
• Skills: Basic math skills, reading and writing proficiency, and ability to identify colors.
• Physical Demands: Ability to move at a quick pace, standing for long periods, and lifting heavy objects.

Work will be performed in a refrigerated and non-refrigerated warehouse environment with temperature variations from 34 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
