Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic Team Lead to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all mechanical system activities, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, schedule, and complete tasks to meet service and delivery schedules.
  2. Assist management with supervision and instruction of aircraft technicians, ensuring they follow proper procedures and techniques for troubleshooting airframe and engine systems, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance.
  3. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of subordinates, applying their strengths for maximum job efficiency and providing guidance and growth opportunities to reinforce developmental areas.
  4. Ensure all required components are ordered for timely availability, send items out for rework or repair as needed, receive and inspect upon return, and perform engine runs on aircraft as required.
  5. Maintain a current knowledge of Aircraft Service Changes (ASCs), Customer Bulletins, inspection schedule requirements, vendor information, and all other procedures, publications, and general knowledge pertaining to aircraft maintenance and servicing.
  6. Perform required periodic maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems, demonstrating the ability to consistently perform assigned maintenance tasks within the quoted or standard CMP time.
  7. Perform post and pre-flight inspections and troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions such as fluid leaks and minor structural damage.
  8. Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment, such as power supply, hydraulic rig, nitrogen filler cart, and oxygen service cart, and operate and supervise the use of special support equipment used in removal and installation of major components.
  9. Assist in maintaining work schedules and updating of CMP cards, reviewing work, including forms and records, to ensure compliance with Gulfstream Repair Station procedures and FAA Airworthiness Standards.
  10. Review daily job charging to ensure accuracy of charges to aircraft.

Requirements:

  1. Advanced knowledge of inspection and heavy maintenance, including aircraft component removal and installation, flight control rigging, engine removal, installation, rigging, schedule and unscheduled inspections, and major or minor sheetmetal/structural repairs or alterations.
  2. Advanced working knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials, including maintenance manuals, IPCs, and structural repair manuals, service bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, etc.
  3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
