Job Summary

This position plays a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of students through the delivery of after-school programming and supervision of student activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a structured daily routine to ensure the delivery of program services.
  • Plan and execute educational, recreational, and leisure time activities that cater to diverse student interests.
  • Provide personal care and support to students, including assistance with personal hygiene practices.
  • Collaborate with students to identify and achieve individual goals, and provide guidance on school activities and programs.
  • Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans and adhere to behavior management policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate written reports and logs of activities and incidents with students.
  • Supervise students on scheduled bus routes to ensure safety and appropriate conduct.
  • Transport students to and from school and evening off-campus activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Development Certificate (GED).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain in accordance with school policy.
  • Valid Driver's License with a driving record that reflects a sense of responsibility for highway and passenger safety.
  • Experience in behavior management or ability to complete behavior management training.
  • Ability to work independently and follow school policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills in spoken English.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language, as measured by the Sign Language Proficiency Scale, specific to assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in human services, education, or a residential setting.
  • Ability to interact with individuals in a patient, positive, and sensitive manner.
  • Ability to carry out instructional, personal care, and support tasks.
