Job Summary
This position plays a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of students through the delivery of after-school programming and supervision of student activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a structured daily routine to ensure the delivery of program services.
- Plan and execute educational, recreational, and leisure time activities that cater to diverse student interests.
- Provide personal care and support to students, including assistance with personal hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with students to identify and achieve individual goals, and provide guidance on school activities and programs.
- Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans and adhere to behavior management policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate written reports and logs of activities and incidents with students.
- Supervise students on scheduled bus routes to ensure safety and appropriate conduct.
- Transport students to and from school and evening off-campus activities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Development Certificate (GED).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain in accordance with school policy.
- Valid Driver's License with a driving record that reflects a sense of responsibility for highway and passenger safety.
- Experience in behavior management or ability to complete behavior management training.
- Ability to work independently and follow school policies and procedures.
- Effective communication skills in spoken English.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language, as measured by the Sign Language Proficiency Scale, specific to assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience in human services, education, or a residential setting.
- Ability to interact with individuals in a patient, positive, and sensitive manner.
- Ability to carry out instructional, personal care, and support tasks.
