The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics, covering a range of topics from basic arithmetic to advanced mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive mathematics curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
- Provide instruction in various areas of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and mathematics applications.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and interest in mathematics.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and address areas for improvement.
- Develop and update instructional materials, lesson plans, and resources to improve the mathematics curriculum.
- Stay current with advancements in mathematics education and best practices through ongoing professional development.
- Incorporate new trends and innovative teaching strategies into the classroom to enhance student learning.
- Maintain an orderly and respectful classroom environment that supports effective teaching and learning.
- Implement and enforce classroom rules and procedures to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.
- Address and manage any behavioral issues or disruptions fairly and consistently.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification in Mathematics or secondary education.
- Previous experience teaching mathematics preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, techniques, and applications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and instructional resources.
Work is performed in a classroom setting. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for school events and activities.
