Antepartum Registered Nurse

Job Summary

As a highly skilled Antepartum Registered Nurse at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to expectant mothers and their families. With a focus on antepartum maternal patients, you will perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document patient assessments at the time of admission
  • Create and revise plans of care, including discharge plans, based on patient response to treatment
  • Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses
  • Ensure physician orders are noted and correctly transcribed
  • Provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments
  • Keep physicians and supervisors aware of significant information regarding the patient and family
  • Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
  • Delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience in an acute care setting - preferred
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) - preferred
