As part of Boeing's global research and development initiative, you will contribute to pioneering technologies that push the boundaries of aerospace innovation. Our team consists of engineers, technicians, and scientists who are dedicated to transforming visionary ideas into reality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and verify specifications for intricate communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and various electromagnetic systems and components.
- Establish and validate electromagnetic criteria for electrical and electronic systems, mechanical structures, and interconnects.
- Design architectures for the integration of complex systems into advanced platforms.
- Conduct detailed trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analytical assessments to evaluate component and system performance, optimizing designs based on established specifications.
- Define and execute critical testing protocols to ensure design performance meets requirements, while managing supplier and partner compliance.
- Provide lifecycle support for products, assisting in resolving complex challenges from manufacturing to customer utilization.
- Support project management by coordinating the development of work statements, budgets, schedules, and conducting necessary reviews.
- Contribute to the preparation of significant sections of proposals for new business development.
- Operate with minimal supervision.
Quantum Physics Specialist (Experienced or Senior) - Candidates will leverage their expertise in quantum physics to develop a robust suite of capabilities in experimental quantum sensing or networking. Successful applicants will possess a profound understanding of both theoretical concepts and laboratory methodologies in at least one of the following domains:
- Optical clocks
- Optical time transfer
- Optical frequency comb-based metrology
- Quantum network-based entanglement of quantum systems (e.g., atomic, ionic, or quantum dot systems)
Successful candidates will:
- Establish a dynamic research and development program supported by both internal and external funding.
- Draft project proposals.
- Innovate future product concepts.
- Assist in the integration of quantum technologies into upcoming products and services for Boeing's commercial and defense sectors.
Additional Information:
This position is hybrid, requiring some onsite work as determined by the hiring team.
Security Clearance: This role necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or a related field pertinent to quantum sensing and/or quantum information science.
- Experience in authoring and publishing research papers and projects.
- Academic and laboratory experience in one of the following areas: optical clocks, optical time transfer, atom interferometry, or quantum network-based entanglement of quantum systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9+ years of relevant work experience or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Active U.S. security clearance.
Typical Education/Experience:
Experienced: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Senior: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
