Position Overview: The role of a Banquet Server is crucial in delivering exceptional service during events and functions. This part-time, on-call position requires setting up the banquet area as directed by the Supervisor, ensuring all necessary items such as linens, serviceware, and glassware are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the banquet room according to the specifications provided by the Supervisor.
- Participate in pre-event meetings to understand the details of the function, including guest expectations.
- Welcome guests warmly and address their requests with professionalism and courtesy.
- Serve food and beverages in the designated order, maintaining consistency as per the Supervisor's guidelines.
- Efficiently clear dishes as guests finish each course and at the conclusion of the meal.
- Adhere to all regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
- Monitor beverage levels and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- After the event, reset the banquet area to prepare for subsequent functions.
- Maintain regular attendance and be available for scheduled shifts.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Basic understanding of food and beverage service standards.
- Knowledge of proper table settings and serviceware.
- Capability to lift and transport items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Familiarity with beverage equipment operation.
