We are looking for dedicated individuals to fill multiple positions within our Shelter Staff program. As Residential Counselors, you will work closely with clients in a communal emergency residential shelter, providing essential life skills support to those residing at the facility. This role also involves overseeing site operations, which includes enforcing safety protocols, program regulations, and evening expectations through a trauma-informed and client-centered approach. Additional responsibilities encompass: assisting with client screening, intake processes, and orientation; guiding clients on daily activities, house rules, and policies; ensuring security and safety; performing housekeeping tasks; overseeing the completion of daily chores; and providing emergency crisis intervention.
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant experience is mandatory.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient crisis management abilities.
- Basic computer skills and experience with data collection are essential.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations is preferred.
- Experience with young adults is an advantage.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
