Job Title: Mobility Skills Trainer

The Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) is a leading provider of comprehensive vision rehabilitation programs. We are seeking an experienced Mobility Skills Trainer to join our team.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

About the Job:
CABVI is a not-for-profit agency with professional and support staff who provide services to over 2,000 people who are blind and visually impaired in a nine-county area. As a Mobility Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for teaching safe and effective orientation and mobility skills to our clients. This includes indoor mobility, cane skills, outdoor travel, self-protective techniques, and sighted guide instruction. You will also develop personalized lesson plans and conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments.

Requirements:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Orientation and Mobility Teaching from an accredited college or university. AER certification is preferred and/or certifiable. You must meet CBVH contractual personnel standards and have excellent knowledge of Grade 1 Braille, map development and reading, orthopedic prosthetic and cane techniques. You should also have stamina for indoor/outdoor travel training and be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
