Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Arizona Kidney Disease and Hypertension Center (AKDHC) Phoenix Access Surgery Center.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care to patients under the supervision of physicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for medical procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained from patients prior to administering sedation.
  • Administer medication as needed.
  • Provide IV therapy and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures.
  • Facilitate patient transfer to EMS and hospital facilities.
  • Ensure timely and smooth flow of patients through the Access Center.
  • Conduct patient assessments for potential problems with patency and other indicators of dialysis access.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Provide patient education and instructions on home care and document patient understanding.
  • Use standard equipment, such as cardiac monitors, oxygen administration systems, and stethoscopes.
  • Perform crash cart maintenance and defibrillator checks.
  • Enter pertinent information in the computer system for statistical analysis, research, and patient follow-up.
  • Maintain Infection Logbook.
  • Assist with maintaining adequate supply and medication inventory.
  • Comply with current OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance (QA) Program.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Two years of acute or critical care experience, preferably with Conscious Sedation.
  • Current Arizona Registered Nurse License, current certification in Basic Life Support, and current ACLS certification.
