Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled UAS Operator to join our team at the University of Maryland UAS Research and Operations Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining drones, assisting with development and modification of custom UAS, capturing and analyzing data, upkeep and modification of ground equipment, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain drones in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist with development and modification of custom UAS
  • Capture and analyze data from drone operations
  • Upkeep and modify ground equipment, including a state-of-the-art Mobile Operations Center
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations

Requirements

  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years' experience operating UAS in a wide range of applications
  • Experience with modifying, building, testing, and operating custom drones
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety protocols
  • Experience operating UAS independently on unique field projects
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining UAS
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety and operational protocols
