Position Overview:
As a Histology Laboratory Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the histology department, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and support to histotechnologists and laboratory staff in the absence of the supervisor.
2. Assist in the management of routine histopathology tasks, addressing escalated issues and troubleshooting quality concerns.
3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and laboratory policies.
4. Conduct training and provide technical guidance to staff, enhancing their skills in specimen preparation and laboratory techniques.
5. Maintain quality control measures and document all activities related to quality assurance.
6. Participate in the development and validation of new laboratory procedures.
7. Facilitate departmental training and competency assessments for staff.

Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in histology, with supervisory experience preferred.

Preferred Experience:
- 6 years in histopathology, including immunohistochemistry.

Education:
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
- Current state licensure and HT (ASCP) certification required; HTL (ASCP) preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
