Internship Program OverviewOur Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GlobalFoundries across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GlobalFoundries, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.
Summary of RoleGLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking an intern to support the 300mm semiconductor technology development integration team. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of Silicon Photonic devices from development, customer engagement to production.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with device, process module, and packaging teams in driving I/O solutions.
- Learn integration module ownership for the development and qualification of Silicon photonics I/O.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
To be considered for this internship, you must:
- Be at least a sophomore at the time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, or a related field through an accredited degree program during the internship.
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.
- Be fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Be able to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
We prefer candidates with:
- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, clients, as well as internal and external partners.
