Job Title: HR Generalist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HR Generalist to join our team at the Fergus Falls Public Schools. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for providing support to our staff and management team in all aspects of human resources.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including generating reports and facilitating staff communications.
  • Ensure the integrity and consistency of HR data.
  • Develop and implement techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data to facilitate decision-making processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Assist with all aspects of onboarding new staff, including managing new staff and substitute staff files.
  • Manage active staff substitute lists and correspond with substitutes as needed.
  • Report certified staff employment and assignment information to the MN Dept of Education through the annual STAR system.
  • Assist with completing the pay equity report and the EEO-5 report, as required by law.
  • Collaborate with the superintendent, finance director, and HR director to compile information for negotiation purposes.
  • Manage all aspects of workers' compensation claims and maintain electronic files.
  • Process and post OSHA 300a logs as required by law.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a public school sector is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Highly functional knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to human resources.
  • Self-motivated and action-oriented, with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively serve others.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to pay close attention to details.
