Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Job Summary:
A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.
The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency and has completed the appropriate Ultrasound certification which is the standard of practice in ultrasound.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report or equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA).
The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of field, diseases and new procedures as they evolve.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to provide high-quality images for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide patient care and education.
- Stay up-to-date with latest technologies and procedures in diagnostic imaging.
Requirements:
- RDCS certification required.
- RVT certification required.
- Previous hospital experience required.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification required.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others.
- Ability to communicate well verbally.
- Strong computer knowledge.
