Position Summary:
The Power Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and sustainability of both new and existing equipment. This position involves leading process and product enhancement initiatives as a technical resource for the operations team. Responsibilities include supporting manufacturing and maintenance through continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshooting technical issues. The Power Engineer will also manage expense and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze equipment failure data to identify trends and patterns.
  • Apply engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence, including the development and revision of preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Devise preventive maintenance strategies and spare parts inventories.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying causes of equipment issues to maximize uptime and throughput.
  • Develop and implement new maintenance procedures and standard operating procedures for repairs.
  • Design and implement new monitoring and testing procedures for equipment.
  • Research and identify new technologies and processes to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure reliability is integrated into all organizational aspects.
  • Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects, utilizing project management fundamentals.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and manage day-to-day activities to ensure timely project completion.
  • Implement plans to enhance profitability by maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • Conduct work measurement studies to meet predetermined goals prior to project handoff to manufacturing.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams, potentially facilitating team efforts.
  • Incorporate safety into all departmental activities and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Research, justify, design, and implement new processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Engage in procurement activities, including obtaining and evaluating bids.
  • Design countermeasures and conduct engineering trials to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.

Qualifications:
4-year degree in engineering preferred.

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in leading various project types, including major equipment outages and the installation of new equipment and processes.

Able to facilitate and complete root cause analysis and implement effective countermeasures.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. Detail-oriented with excellent communication and analytical skills.
