Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Automotive Technology courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the field and be able to create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Automotive Technology courses at a variety of times and locations, creating course syllabi, and evaluating student progress. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

This is a part-time, adjunct position, and the successful candidate will be required to teach a maximum of five classes per academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Automotive Technology courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher, ASE Master Automotive Technician, and five (5) years of non-teaching work experience in the field

Benefits:

  • $53.82 per contact hour
