This position demands the implementation of procurement strategies, meticulous tracking and analysis of cost metrics, and effective negotiation of labor rates and unit pricing with key suppliers and vendors. Collaboration with various department leaders at ICON will be essential to maintain clear requirements and establish efficient processes as needed. Your duties will also encompass cost analysis, risk mitigation, and determining optimal delivery schedules in sync with our construction timelines. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills are critical for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate, lead, and implement procurement strategies in partnership with ICON leadership.
  • Oversee and manage the activities of procurement specialists.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics to minimize costs and enhance efficiency.
  • Anticipate price fluctuations and market trends to maximize purchasing power.
  • Conduct cost analysis and benchmark market comparisons.
  • Identify and engage reliable vendors and suppliers who align with our mission and the need for strategic collaboration.
  • Establish delivery quantities and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Input job-specific pricing into our operating system prior to the issuance of initial purchase orders.
  • Regularly review project budgets and cost reports with accounting and construction teams.
  • Continuously monitor and report on changes in subcontractor and material costs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role within a production single-family homebuilding environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related discipline.
  • In-depth understanding of the homebuilding construction process.
  • Experience in sourcing and vendor management.
  • Strong interest in market dynamics coupled with sound business acumen.
  • Excellent negotiation and networking abilities.
  • Proficient in vendor management software.
  • Ability to analyze data and work with numerical information.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience with procurement teams.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 3+ years of experience with Sage CRE and/or ProCore software.
  • Background in construction estimating.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
