Ultrasound Technologist II Job Description

Optum is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist II to join our team in the Tri-State region. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operate related equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety by creating a tranquil environment and adhering to examination instructions.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on images and verify proper file identification.
  • Maintain logs, process paperwork for biopsies, and utilize sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a course in ultrasonic technology.
  • ARDMS certification.
  • 5+ years of experience as an ultrasound technologist.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.
  • 2+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist.
