LPN - Day Shift Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center. As a member of our healthcare team, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Manager, utilizing your skills and expertise to deliver exceptional care to patients with medical/surgical needs.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care
- Assess and assist with managing patient needs following physician orders with RN oversight and utilization of the nursing process.
- Perform routine nursing procedures to meet the needs of patients under the supervision of RN.
- Coordination of Services for Episode of Care
- Coordinate care and services with RN and other team members.
- Inform RN, therapist, and/or clinical supervisor of changes in patient condition, as appropriate.
- Patient/Caregiver Education
- Serve as patient educator to foster self-care or caregiver support for the home patient.
- Staff Education and Professional Development
- Participate in the orientation and education of new employees and nursing students as appropriate.
- Responsible for attending continuing education and in-services as directed and needed.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
- Current State of Georgia professional licensure.
- Minimum 1 year medical/surgical nursing practice in an acute care environment.
- Positive leadership, problem-solving skills, strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong assessment and clinical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
