Position Overview
Assists in surgical procedures within the operating room and provides various medical services under the supervision of a surgeon.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and both individual and group health education sessions. - 20%
- Requests diagnostic laboratory and imaging tests, including specialized procedures such as CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and contrast studies with physician consent. - 20%
- Analyzes physical findings, laboratory results, and imaging studies to establish diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications in compliance with state regulations. - 20%
- Escalates complex cases to the supervising physician when patient conditions surpass the Physician Assistant's scope of practice or training. - 20%
- Delivers emergency medical care to avert potential loss of life, limb, or eyesight, implementing emergency protocols as per training. - 10%
- Enhances clinic operations by engaging in policy formulation, operational enhancements, and the execution of new policies and improvements. - 10%
- Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by bodies such as CAHEA, the American Medical Association, or the Association of Medical Colleges.
- Experience - No prior experience necessary.
- Current NCCPA certification and valid Physician Assistant license in South Carolina.
- BLS certification.
