Key Responsibilities

Role Summary

Conduct comprehensive assessments, formulate and effectively implement individualized treatment strategies, and provide clear education to patients and their caregivers in an understandable manner. Plan for discharge when continued skilled therapeutic intervention is no longer warranted. Engage in departmental initiatives and maintain effective communication with all rehabilitation team members to promote professional development and enhance overall clinical performance. Undertake additional professional responsibilities related to client care, development of specialized therapy services, and program delivery design.

Our dedicated speech therapists concentrate on the following areas:

  • Oral Motor Skills: Focusing on the strength, coordination, and control of oral movements essential for eating and speaking.
  • Expressive Language Development: Critical for effective communication skills, including requesting, social interaction, and sharing information.
  • Receptive Language Development: Enhancing listening skills, attention span, and overall comprehension of spoken language.
  • Executive Functioning: Addressing language and learning challenges, aiding in time management, self-regulation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Social Skills Development: Teaching the nuances of language use in various contexts, including relationship building and emotional awareness.
  • Self-Help Skills: Equipping children with strategies to manage behaviors positively across different environments.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech Therapy is mandatory.
  • Current and valid New Jersey state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
  • Possession of a current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association is essential.
  • Prior experience in pediatric settings is preferred.
