As a Speech Language Pathologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide direct patient care to members with communication and swallowing disorders by evaluating, diagnosing, and developing individualized therapy programs.
Key Responsibilities- Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, as well as applicable state, federal, and local laws.
- Administer diagnostic tests and provide treatment to adults and children with various communication disorders, voice impairments, and neurological defects.
- Advise physicians on test results and recommend appropriate treatments.
- Monitor patient progress and collaborate with physicians to alter treatment programs as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams and serve as a clinical expert in specialized areas.
- Train CFY candidates and ensure compliance with TJC, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Develop protocols and treatment programs within specialized areas and present in-service programs in your area of expertise.
- Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations and interpret results for referring physicians, therapists, and medical staff.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Adjust treatment programs to improve effectiveness and meet client needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate professional competence in assessing patient conditions and planning treatment programs.
- Knowledge of rehabilitative techniques and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
