About the Role

The RDA Protection Systems - Armour Shop is a state-of-the-art production facility within the MILVEHCOE facility in Queensland, Australia. This workshop is responsible for the production of various protection elements, including those used for the L400 Phase 2 Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle assembly process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the waterjet cutting process to ensure the successful operation of the production capability.
  • Operate the Armour Shop waterjet cutting machinery and associated process inputs and outputs.
  • Create and update cutting machine programmes in accordance with product engineering specifications and production schedules.
  • Maintain the cutting process work area in accordance with WHS and 5S requirements.
  • Conduct in-process quality assurance checks to ensure build quality adheres to technical standards.
  • Complete quality documentation for the work area and ensure compliance with RDA's Health, Safety & Environment Policy requirements.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with waterjets or CNC machines.
  • A relevant trade qualification (including Machine Operation, Tool Making, Hydraulic) is desirable.
  • Experience in CNC programming and nesting is essential.
  • Experience working in a production or assembly environment is required.
  • The willingness to be trained on cutting equipment and cross-trained on other Armour Shop equipment is necessary.
  • Australian Citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance is essential.
