Job Summary:

As a SCADA Power Systems Technician, your primary responsibilities will include the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Power Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. You will collaborate closely with clients to ensure their power infrastructure operates smoothly, providing technical assistance and resolving issues promptly. This role demands a solid understanding of electrical systems, SCADA software, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and commission SCADA systems for power distribution and generation facilities.
  2. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, database management, and system backups.
  3. Monitor SCADA systems for performance issues and troubleshoot hardware or software problems as they arise.
  4. Work with engineering teams to design and implement system upgrades or modifications.
  5. Provide training and technical support to end-users on SCADA system operation and maintenance.
  6. Perform site assessments to evaluate equipment condition, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.
  7. Document all activities, including installation procedures, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting steps.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while working in field environments.
  9. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to power SCADA systems.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with Power SCADA systems in a field technician capacity is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in PLC ladder logic, scripting, protection relay configuration, and familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
  • Knowledge of SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, GE Proficy, Siemens WinCC).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
