About the Role

Huntington Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Pathology Lab Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pathology report transcription process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe and coordinate pathology reports in conjunction with associated secretarial and quality assurance functions.
  • Work with minimal supervision and be involved in the coordination of workflow and instruction of other employees.
  • Collaborate with our team to maintain high-quality documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 coding.
Requirements
  • Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from High School, medical secretarial courses at junior college or trade school level; and three years of office experience.
  • Pathology transcription experience preferred.
