Asphalt Plant Loader Specialist

Position Overview:

The Heavy Equipment Loader Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of construction machinery to manage aggregate stockpiles and support plant operations. This role involves both direct and indirect supervision and requires a commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery, specifically loaders, to manage material movement effectively.
• Maintain well-stocked bins and prioritize material handling to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment, including checking for leaks and lubricating machinery.
• Perform daily inspections of the asphalt plant and carry out necessary maintenance tasks.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, executing minor repairs as needed.
• Assist in the maintenance of the asphalt plant and perform other manual labor tasks as required.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of all company equipment.
• Be prepared to work beyond standard hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.
• Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Proficient in operating heavy construction equipment.
• Understanding of asphalt plant operations and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate welding and cutting equipment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Certification or degree in heavy equipment operation or a related field is advantageous.
• A minimum of one year of experience in operating heavy machinery is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Capability to safely climb in and out of equipment and operate controls with precision.
• Ability to perform tasks at heights, such as on silos.
• Willingness to work in environments with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Capacity to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as shoveling.
• Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
