Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
Job DescriptionThe Medical Imaging Assistant will provide assistance to technologists in various areas, allowing them to maintain an on-time schedule and operate the scanning area efficiently. This includes:
- Monitoring MRI, CT, arthrogram, and x-ray schedules
- Adjusting patient schedules as needed and keeping technologists informed of any changes
- Greeting and escorting patients to changing rooms, explaining procedures briefly
- Preparing patient jackets and compiling films according to date and number
- Assisting technologists in room setup between patients, including coil preparation and table maintenance
- Helping technologists stay on time by having the next patient ready before the current patient finishes
- Restoring and networking previous exams for returning patients
In addition to these responsibilities, the Medical Imaging Assistant will also perform cleaning and organization tasks, including:
- Stocking and cleaning work and control areas, as well as MRI rooms
- Ensuring MRI patient areas are stocked and organized neatly
- Cleaning and stocking patient prep rooms and restrooms
- Stocking linen and emptying laundry at the end of the night
- Organizing supply closets and computer rooms
- Organizing radiologist reading areas after radiologists depart
- Checking with MRI technologists, Medical Records, and Front Office for additional duties as needed
