About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Installation Specialist to join our team at Wanzek Construction. As a key member of our solar installation team, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Installation: Assemble, install, and maintain solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with site assessment and schematics.
  • Structural Framing and Module Installation: Measure, cut, assemble, and bolt structural framing and solar modules.
  • Tool Operation and Safety: Safely utilize hand tools and power tools, such as drills and impact wrenches, to perform various functions.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Inspect work for compliance with contract plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with other crafts and co-workers to ensure efficient installation and completion of projects.
  • Training and Development: Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to helpers and laborers.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Ensure construction equipment is correctly operated, maintained, and in good working order.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2 years of experience working as a Solar Installer or equivalent combination of education and experience in a construction setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of solar photovoltaic construction craft, ability to read and understand plans and specifications, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Education and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent, and any relevant certifications or training in solar installation and safety procedures.
