Geotechnician Assistant

Job Summary:

Geotemps, Inc. is seeking a skilled Geology Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the exploration drilling program, working closely with the Sr. Geologist and other Geological staff.

The Geology Technician will be responsible for preparing drill core or RC samples for laboratory analysis, labeling and tracking laboratory samples, and storing samples returned from the lab. They will also assist with associated duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare drill core or RC samples for laboratory analysis
Label and track laboratory samples
Store samples returned from the lab
Assist with associated duties as needed

Requirements:

Multi-tasking and time management skills
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet drilling program and sample processing schedules
Physical demands include repeatedly lifting 60 pounds, driving a pickup truck safely, and walking on rocky, uneven surfaces
Basic computer skills for data entry
MSHA certification and valid driver's license
Reliable transportation

Working Conditions:

The Geology Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to weather conditions. They will be required to operate a forklift, hydraulic pallet Jack, core saw, and core splitter safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will receive training and certification for all machinery/equipment used in sample preparation.
