Job Summary:

The Plumbing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of plumbing systems within the Hospital. This skilled craft position requires journeyman level or higher proficiency, mental and visual alertness, and adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance program for all piping in the Hospital campus, hot and cold water, sanitary sewer, and storm drains.
  • Repairs or installations of fixtures and faucets, piping, supply and waste, sprinklers, and medical gas systems.
  • Oversees all outside plumbing related contractors, purchase of plumbing supplies, and inventory of supplies.
  • Responsible for metal work repair to include welding, brazing, and silver soldering as needed.
  • Must be able to operate oxy-acetylene cutting torches and equipment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma or trade school diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum of four (4) years related experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Completion of plumbing apprenticeship school required.
  • State Journeyman's Plumbing license REQUIRED.
