Locomotive Mechanic/Electrician

We are seeking a skilled Locomotive Mechanic/Electrician to join our team at Trans Global Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems and diesel locomotives.

• Inspect locomotives to identify areas requiring repair or maintenance
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems and diesel locomotives
• Perform mechanical, airbrake, and electrical repairs to EMD/GE diesel-electric locomotives
• Install new ignition systems, align locomotive wheels, and replace transmissions and other parts
• Overhaul engines and examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on locomotives

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
• Ability to read and interpret locomotive blueprints

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to travel and work out of home area up to five days per week (overnight) on a continual basis.
