Explosives Handler

Austin Powder is a leading manufacturer of commercial explosives and blasting services, serving the quarrying, mining, construction, and oil and gas industries.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Crew Member to join our team. As a Crew Member, you will be responsible for safely handling explosives, assisting with daily operations, and working with our experienced team to complete tasks at our local distribution center or customer blast sites.

• Comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies for providing labor support on job sites.
• Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the Austin Powder location.
• Work safely and efficiently to complete tasks, including loading and unloading explosives, taking inventory, and performing physical tasks.
• Collaborate with the Location Manager and/or Blaster in Charge to ensure safe and effective handling of explosives.

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Physical ability to load and unload and lift 40-60 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Strong team-working skills.
• Ability to perform basic math functions to count inventory and calculate quantities.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, including SDS and product information.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours.
